These are not your average cheesy homemade decorations. I honestly didn't know cardboard could look this good. The mailbox is my favorite.

There’s no need to buy new decorations when you can create them. Take out all those boxes, cardboard tubes, and all your other craft items and turn your home into something merry and bright.

This video shows 15 different Christmas decorations you can make with old cardboard.

Like these glamorous little angels.

These hanging angel decorations are made by cutting the paper rolls and rolling them up tightly, then gluing them together.

Paint them, add some glitter, and embellish them with some ribbons. There’s also a version that utilizes thinner boxes (like a cereal box).

Another decoration you can make is this lovely poinsettia.

Just glue or tape them together and form the curves by angling the paper roll before connecting them. It is also important to stuff the hollow parts with old newspapers to keep their shape and make them sturdy.

Look how cute this next one is.

It doesn’t look like it’s made of toilet paper roll, does it?

What’s Christmas without a tree?

You can make mini ones using paper rolls.

The video also shows different versions of it. It depends on how you cut and assemble them. One used rolled cuts, while the others used folded ones.

The common thing about these mini-Christmas trees is they use cardboard shaped into a cone as a base.

You can get a bigger tree by layering cardboard.

There’s this tree that used folded cardboard glued to the edge of a round, thicker board. Each board is of a different size, so you can form a tree when you stack it one after the other.

This one is unique.

You glue together paper rolls or thicker cardboard tubes and cut them to different lengths. Punch holes on both ends so you can insert a string and string the tubes together.

You can place hooks to hang your decorations and hang Christmas lights, too.

Speaking of lights, battery lights are amazing.

You can create a miniature Christmas house (and even make a village!) out of old cardboard and paper rolls. Or make Christmas candles, but without the danger of starting a fire.

Our favorite decorations are multi-functional.

This one is made of a big cardboard box, and then you can create smaller slots in them that can fit a paper roll. You can design it however you want, which makes it more fun to do.

Then, use one toilet paper roll, cut a part of it at the top, design, and insert in the slots. Put some candies in and you’re on your way to having a homemade advent calendar.

The mailbox is our absolute favorite.

You can place Christmas cards and postcards that you receive in here, or tell your kids that Santa has a special message for them in there. It’s innovative, fun, and made of recycled materials.
